This program is aimed at young researchers registered in Belgian research or higher education institutions who wish to spend 1 to 3 months in France. The program covers all disciplines in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be a doctoral or post-doctoral student registered at a Belgian university or research institution;
  • The research stay must take place in a French laboratory (university, grande école, public research laboratory, etc.);
  • The doctoral student must be invited by a researcher or teacher-researcher in France who agrees to supervise the doctoral student's research work during his or her stay;
  • Fluency in French is not compulsory, but is an asset.

Doctoral students of French nationality are not eligible.

What this scholarship includes :

  • A stipend of €1,700 net/month;
  • Round-trip airfare to France;
  • Health insurance ;
  • Assistance in finding low-cost accommodation through Agence Campus France.

Applications must include:

  • A copy of the last diploma obtained;
  • A CV listing previous scholarships obtained, as well as any other scholarships for which the young researcher is applying;
  • A letter from the thesis supervisor or director of the Belgian research team agreeing to the mobility in France;
  • A letter of invitation from the researcher in France, agreeing to co-supervise the research work. The letter should also describe existing or future collaborations between the two laboratories, and explain how the mobility will benefit the host laboratory;
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of the research in France, the institution in Belgium and the desired duration of the stay in France.

Selection criteria :

  • Scientific relevance of the research project;
  • Scientific knowledge of the young researcher in his/her field of research;
  • Impact of the PhD student's mobility on the development of collaborations;

  • Registration opens: June 10, 2024
  • Application deadline: September 30, 2024
